Brief Introduction to Professor Dachuan Chen

Dachuan Chen holds a Doctor of Engineering degree and is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Civil Engineering, Hunan University. His main research interests include the theory and technology of structural appraisal, strengthening and renovation, construction technology, and engineering management. He currently serves as Deputy Director of the Masonry Structure Professional Committee and Deputy Secretary-General of the Building Appraisal and Strengthening Professional Committee of the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization (CECS), Vice Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Engineering Management Society, Deputy Leader of the Expert Group of the On-site Emergency Rescue Team for the 4·29 Extraordinarily Serious Collapse Accident of a Residential Self-built Building in Changsha, Hunan, and Leader of the Expert Group of the State Council's Investigation Team for the 4·29 Extraordinarily Serious Accident. He has participated in the compilation of more than 10 national codes and standards, including the General Code for Assessment and Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings (GB55021) and the Code for design of masonry structures (GB55007).
