Introduction of the Speaker:

Professor Akira Wada is a professor emeritus at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. He has been a member of the Science Council of Japan since 2005. He served as the president of the Architectural Institute of Japan, the president of Japan Society of Seismic Isolation. He is now the president of the Structural Engineers World Congress, the representative direction of the Japan Academic Network for Disaster Reduction and the Japan Seismic Isolation Laboratory. He received the Fazlur R. Khan Lifetime Achievement Medal of 2011 by the CTBUH, and the AIJ Grand Prize in 2019.
