On the afternoon of August 18, a delegation led by Weidong Lu, the Vice President of Nanjing Tech University, visited the School of Civil Engineering for a research visit and exchange. A meeting was held in Conference Room 217 of the Civil Engineering Research Building, and was chaired by Yuyin Wang, the Party Secretary of the School of Civil Engineering.
The visiting delegation of Nanjing Tech University included Weidong Lu (Vice President), Weimin Sun (Former Vice President), Tao Zhang (Party Secretary, School of Civil Engineering), Hai Fang (Dean), Huifeng Yang (Vice Dean), Hongjing Li (Deputy Director, Professor Committee), and Associate Professor Biao Wu. Representatives from Harbin Institute of Technology included Feng Fan (Vice President), Wenli Chen (Dean, School of Civil Engineering), Yuyin Wang (Party Secretary, School of Civil Engineering), Qingpeng Man (Assistant to the Dean), and Professor Yaowu Wang, among others.
At the meeting, Yuyin Wang introduced the HIT participants. Wenli Chen presented an overview of the HIT School of Civil Engineering, covering disciplinary development, faculty team, talent cultivation, alumni affairs, academic programs, and scientific research. Tao Zhang introduced the participants from Nanjing Tech University, and Hai Fang provided a detailed introduction to the School of Civil Engineering at Nanjing Tech University, including its faculty strengths, research platforms, historical development, disciplinary and program structure, organizational setup, and talent training.
Both sides shared their practices and experiences in areas such as disciplinary development, educational and teaching initiatives, scientific research, and planning and development of high-level faculty teams, followed by in-depth discussions.
Vice President Weidong Lu expressed appreciation for HIT’s long-standing support of Nanjing Tech University and conveyed the hope for further cooperation to learn from and draw on HIT's successful experience. And he hoped to receive continued guidance and support in future collaborations.
Vice President Feng Fan warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed the expectation that both sides would strengthen exchanges, learn from and support each other, and work together to advance civil engineering disciplines and talent cultivation.
