The First Inspection Team of the University Party Committee provided feedback to the Party Committee of the School of Civil Engineering on the inspection findings

In accordance with arrangements made by the University Party Committee, on September 5, the University Party Committees First Inspection Team delivered feedback on its inspection of the Party Committee of the School of Civil Engineering.

Sun Xue, member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Executive Vice President, attended the feedback meeting with the Schools leadership team and set forth requirements for follow-up rectification. Fan Yi, head of the First Inspection Team, separately conveyed the inspection findings to the principal leaders of the Schools Party and to the leadership team. Wang Yuyin, Secretary of the School Party Committee, chaired the feedback meeting for the leadership team and delivered a statement on implementing the inspection rectification. 

Sun Xue emphasized that the School Party Committee should thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinpings important remarks on inspection work, uphold the principle of focusing on the center and serving the overall situation,and take a broader perspectivelooking beyond inspection issues to drive deeper reflection, and looking beyond the grassroots level to identify systemic improvements. She called for further emancipating the mind, pursuing bolder innovation, and advancing high-quality development through concrete and pragmatic measures. Sun stressed the importance of inspection rectification, urging proactive action and prompt implementation, with close attention to prominent issues that constrain the Schools high-quality development and directly affect the vital interests of faculty, staff, and students. Rectification efforts should be comprehensive, prioritize key issues, and address problems one by one to ensure that tasks are rectified thoroughly and effectively. She also urged the School to make full use of inspection outcomes, apply lessons learned by analogy, address both symptoms and root causes, and establish long-term institutional mechanisms to consolidate results and continuously promote high-quality, connotative development.

 

Fan Yi noted that the School Party Committee should uphold the spirit of the congratulatory letter as guidance, proactively align with national strategies, explore new propositions and opportunities for development, and accelerate implementation of the Universitys goals of advancing into the ranks of world-class universities. He called on the School to respond proactively to change and seek transformation, striving to serve as a vanguard in advancing high-quality development by improving the quality of talent cultivation, continuously optimizing the structure of the talent team, expanding into new research frontiers, and strengthening the Schools international influence in all respects. He also urged the School to deepen full and strict self-governance of the Party with the courage to engage in self-reform, and to continue strengthening work style. Fan emphasized that the School must strictly fulfill its primary responsibility for rectification, integrate immediate corrective actions with long-term institutional improvements, and continuously promote high-quality development across all undertakings.

 

Wang Yuyin stated that the feedback and recommendations from the inspection team were comprehensive, objective, and incisive. The Party Committee of the School of Civil Engineering sincerely accepts them in full and will resolutely implement the required rectifications.  He affirmed that the School’s Party Committee will take the inspection rectification as an opportunity to thoroughly analyze the root causes of problems, adhere to both temporary and permanent solutions, establish long-term mechanisms, deepen reform and innovation, and improve internal governance systems and mechanisms. The School will ensure that rectification measures are implemented effectively and inspection outcomes are transformed into internal momentum for accelerating development and supporting the Schools high-quality development.

 

Zhang Silong, deputy head of the First Inspection Team, and relevant colleagues, along with representatives from the Party Committee Organization Department, disciplinary inspection and supervision bodies, and the Party Committee Inspection Office, attended the leadership feedback meeting together with the Schools leadership team. Representatives of faculty and students, as well as retired faculty representatives, attended as observers.
