Students of HIT make a good achievement in the 15th National Structural Design Competition for College Students

Recently, the 15th National College students structural Design Competition came to an end. Under the guidance of Professor Shao Yongsong of Civil Engineering College of HIT, the works of He Taipeng, Li Jie and Xiao Hongshuo, 2021 undergraduates of the School of Civil Engineering, won the first prize in the competition. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Wang Huajie, Engineer Zhang Tianwei and Associate Professor Chen Deshen of Marine Engineering College of Weihai Campus, the works of Zhang Jiahao, Wang Yankai and Wu Haoran, 2021 undergraduates of Marine Engineering College won the second prize in the competition. Harbin Institute of Technology won the Excellent Organization Award, and Professor Shao Yongsong won the Outstanding Contribution Award.

The competition is co-sponsored by the The Engineering Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Higher Education, the Teaching Guidance Committee of Civil Engineering Major of the Ministry of Education, The Education Working Committee of the Chinese Civil Engineering Society, and the Department of Environment and Civil Water Conservancy of the Science and Technology Commission of Ministry of Education. There are two stages: regional competition and national competition.514 universities and 1209 participating teams participated in the regional competition, and 111 teams from 110 universities finally participated in the finals.

The College of Civil Engineering has attached great importance to students' innovative practice activities over the years. By providing an innovative practice platform, holding university-level college students' structural design competition, strengthening training and guidance, the team of our school has won the first prize in the national college students' structural design competition for 6 consecutive years.
