The Spring Festival Meeting for overseas students from the School of Civil Engineering was held on January 20, 2023. The college leaders express New Year greetings to the students, and encourage them to continue to focus on their study and keep working hard in the New Year.

Among those attending the meeting are 9 students abroad, and the Dean of School, Prof. Wang Yuyin, Secretary of the Party Committee, Prof. Chen Wenli, the Vice Dean, Prof. Wu Yue, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Mr. Li Zhe, graduate counselors, Ms. Li Wendan, and Ms. Chen Yang Yinuo.

At the meeting, the students shared the specific experience during the overseas study and the local conditions and customs where they are living. Meanwhile, the students exchanged their experiences on the scientific research projects they participated in. Finally, the students appreciate the concern from the school, and sent their Spring Festival wishes to the teachers.

Wang Yuyin, President of the College, Chen Wenli, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Wu Yue, Vice President of the College, shared their experience of studying abroad and sent Spring Festival wishes from alma mater and the college to students. At the same time, the teachers also put forward hopes and requirements for the students: First, we should pay attention to the main business, make good use of the scientific research and academic resources of the school and discipline, improve the scientific research level, increase their ability, broaden their horizon, and strive to be the leader in the field of scientific research. Second, we should pay attention to personal safety and epidemic prevention safety. We hope that students can spend a safe, warm and peaceful Spring Festival abroad. When there are difficulties, we must immediately contact the alma mater and the college, and keep communication with tutors and counselors. Third, we need to make more local friends, respect local customs, strengthen emotional exchanges, tell China's stories well, release China's voice, and be a disseminator of China's image.

At the end of the meeting, the students thanked the alma mater and the college for their deep concern for the overseas students, saying that although they spent the Spring Festival in a foreign country, they still felt the strong flavor of the Spring Festival and warmth. In the new year, they will continue to study hard, make achievements on the new platform, return to China as soon as possible, realize my own value and serve the motherland.
